Embossing folders for paper and foils

Embossing with an embossing folder is very easy: place a piece of paper (this can also be foil) between the two sides of the folder. Then you crank the folder with the different plates = sandwich (depending on the embossing machine which plates are required) through your embossing and die cutting machine such as the Big Shot from Sizzix. The embossed result is ready! You can now use this for your creative project or further process it (coloring, grinding, etc.)

Embossing folders carry the pattern once as a negative and once as a positive structure. This will emboss the pattern exactly into your material (e.g. paper, cardstock, foil). Since only an embossing folder and paper is used, it is also referred to as dry embossing.
