Cutting + Embossing

Dies are used in scrapbooking, card making, and paper crafting to shape paper for your craft projects. Whether a simple heart or a particularly detailed die for the very fine stuff, there are so many different paper punches and dies that are suitable for all kinds of creative projects. Whether greeting cards, gift wrapping or scrapbooking albums - the possible uses of these dies are as varied as your ideas. Embossing paper with embossing templates is also possible. This way you get great patterns on the paper, which result in three-dimensional effects through differently embossed heights and depths. For many people, designing and crafting using paper is a hobby that inspires them over and over again. Whether you are a beginner or an advanced user, the paper dies and embossing templates make it very easy to implement your ideas.

Paper punching - What are the options and what is right for me?

When it comes to paper punching and dies, there are basically two different variants. On the one hand, you can work with hand punches, also known as motif punches. The motifs, as the name suggests, are punched out by hand. The paper is simply placed in the hand punch and the punch is pressed together and your motif is already punched out. But if you want to work with more advanced motifs, it is definitely worth using a punching and embossing machine for punching the paper. An example of such a machine is the Big Shot from Sizzix. It is one of the most popular paper punching machines. Using it is extremely easy. The paper is placed on the die and a sandwich or stack is formed with the two cutting plates (transparent plates) and the base plate. Everything is then cranked through the punching machine and the desired motif is punched out. The embossing of motifs also works this way. With paper punching, you can quickly and easily create beautiful and detailed motifs and cutouts that you can use for your projects.

Paper punching and embossing: advantages over motifs cut out by hand

Paper punching and paper embossing using motif dies or die and embossing machines has many practical advantages compared to good old craft scissors. On the one hand, the borders and edges are punched out much smoother and cleaner than when cutting with scissors. Who would want uncleanly cut out motifs or design elements on their lovingly designed projects? The edges are also slightly beveled after punching out and the punched-out motif appears more three-dimensional. And punching paper is quicker and easier than cutting it out with scissors. This saves you time, which you can then invest in your creative designs. For an optimal end result. So: What are you waiting for? Have a look around and start punching and embossing today.
